SIBERIAN (Eleutherococcus Senticosus)
Definition: Used for generations by Chinese, ginseng was taken to increase life span as well as wisdom. Considered a tonic herb, ginseng has captured the interest of the scientific community and has been found to lower cholesterol, boost cardiovascular function, prevent blood clots, increase stamina and protect cells from radiation.

Safety: Generally recognized as safe, ginseng should be purchased from reliable sources to ensure purity and potency. A study published in a 1979 issue of The Journal of the American Medical Association erroneously reported that ginseng causes high blood pressure and irritability. The study was subsequently discredited. If used in reasonable amount ginseng is considered nontoxic.
