Solaray Camas Prairie Tea-essiac blend 3 lb. Jugs
The three pound food grade plastic jug is a convenient way to buy a larger amount of our essiac blend. The jug has the same attractive labels (front and side), a handle for easy lifting and pouring, and has a heat sealed lid. Each jug has brewing instructions on the outside label and complete brewing instructions with more information on an insert on the inside. The specific herbs in our formula are: Burdock root, Sheep Sorrel, Rhubarb root and Slippery Elm bark. The jugs are especially attractive to people who use essiac blend on a regular basis.
Our essiac blend is made up of 4 herbs.

Ingredients:

Sheep Sorrel
Sheep Sorrel is a rich source of oxalic acid, sodium, beta carotene, manganese, phosphorus, iron, and vitamin C. It supports healthy digestive cycles and immune system vitality.
Slippery Elm Bark
Slippery Elm Bark Contains Anthaquinone glycosides including chrysophanol, emodin, aloe-emodin, rhein, physcion; as well as cinnamic acid, calcium oxalate, fructose, glucose, tannic acids, and sennosides A, B, and C. It is a rich source of antioxidants and promotes digestive heatlh.
Burdock Root
Burdock root tea is a powerful anti-inflammatory properties. Its numerous antioxidants promote liver health supporting the processing of the body's naturally occurring steroids which are helpful in achieving hormonal balance. A mildly bitter herb, it stimulates the release of gastric juices and aids digestion

Brewing Instructions:

It is made into a nurturing liquid through a simple process of extracting vital ingredients by simmering roots and herbs for a few minutes and then allowing the herbs to steep for several hours.
Yields will be less than the initial volume of water due to its absorption in the herbs during preparation.

The consistency of the prepared liquid could change from batch to batch (more or less syrupy) due to the slippery elm bark powder. This is normal.

We recommend using only stainless steel utensils when preparing this blend.

Rene Caisse, a Canadian nurse, received the formula from a patient who acquired the recipe from a Native American medicine man. Beginning in the 1920s, Rene administered the formula to her patients with positive results. The generic name "essiac" is Caisse spelled backwards!
